EXCLUSIVE: Contractor has been accident-free for three years, MD says after winning Dubai Municipality competition
Al Naboodah Construction Group has commended its health and safety record after it was among three companies to win a six-month Dubai Municipality challenge to record no construction accidents, managing director, Senan Abdullah Mohamed Juma Al Naboodah, told Construction Week.
Winning Dubai Municipality’s inaugural Zero Accident Construction Challenge was a testament to the UAE contractor’s credentials, he continued.
“We at Al Naboodah Construction Group take great measures to ensure the safety of our staff across all of our construction sites. Our health and safety regulations are one of our driving forces of success and we are pleased to maintain a zero-fatality record for three consecutive years,” he said.
“Being honoured by Dubai Municipality is another testament to our work and places us amongst the top echelons of growth and prosperity globally.”
ANCG came out on top of Dubai Municipality’s construction safety challenge, alongside ALEC and Khansaheb.
In February 2019, the MD told Construction Week that Al Naboodah Construction Group planned to deliver up to 16 primary infrastructure and construction projects this year, many of which will be to support Expo 2020 Dubai.
The company is aiming to complete car parks, roadways, and emergency service buildings for the expo megaproject this year as the organising team aims to have all major construction work wrapped up one year before Expo 2020 kicks off in October 2020.
Expo 2020 Dubai confirmed in September 2018 that Al Naboodah Construction Group was using asphalt mix made from recycled tyres to pave 30,000 car par spaces.
About a fifth of the mixture came from disused car tyres and this push toward green building stems from the expo’s reduce, reuse, or recycle ethos.
