April 2 (Renewables Now) – Japanese firm Minato Management Co Ltd announced on Monday it has started supplying power from a 1.49-MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant in Kagawa prefecture.

The PV facility, switched on on March 29, was developed jointly with local firm Asahi I&R Energy Co Ltd and financed through non-recourse loans from financial institutions and a fund set up as a joint investment project between the project partners.

Japanese firm Omron Field Engineering Co Ltd was in charge of the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC). Asahi will take on the operation and maintenance (O&M) of the solar plant, while Minato acts as asset manager.

The Enepark Takamatsu Power Plant will be producing approximately 1.89 million kWh per year, enough to meet the annual consumption of about 390 local households.
